It is fast approaching that time of year when the leaves turn golden, the kids go back to school, and you consider taking up an evening class in Greek mythology or practical car maintenance.

Save yourself the energy and enrol in something you might enjoy. Wageningen University in the Netherlands has a five-week course on edX.org all about beer.

A course on beer? Surely this is just a less posh wine tasting course and an excuse to get pickled in front of the laptop? No, this is all about the science and culture of beer and it is a great way to up your hipster status amongst the craft beer crowd.
