Speculation on Smurfit "unfounded"

MR RAY Curran, finance director of the Jefferson Smurfit Group, has said that speculation that the group is planning a buyout of the US Jefferson Smurfit Corp is "completely unfounded".

"There is no plan to acquire Morgan Stanley's stake or bring JSC private," he said.
