MERCURY Asset Management, which bought 12.8 per cent of Ulster Television last week, has increased its stake to 13.96 per cent. Mercury said that it bought an additional 120,000 shares in UTV, which has been the subject of increasing bid speculation in recent months. The additional purchase cost Mercury about £1.5 million sterling, boosting its total investment in UTV over the past week to £18.5 million.
