Woodchester chairman and chief executive, Mr Craig McKinney will receive £6.72 million for his 2.56 million shares in the company and a further £800,000 for his share options.

Mr McKinney will remain with Woodchester under its new ownership on a service contract Deputy chief executive, Mr Dan O'Connor is listed in the group's annual report as having no Woodchester shares, but he will realise more than £700,000 from his share options.

Other directors will receive substantially smaller amounts, but Mr Michael Cullen will receive £134,000 and Mr Eugene McCarthy more than £105,000.

As the biggest shareholder with 53.7 per cent, Credit Lyonnais will receive £317 million from the proceeds of the GE Capital takeover while the minority shareholders will share £274 million.

The biggest minority shareholder is Irish Life with 5.9 per cent, followed by Standard Life (5.1 per cent), Bank of Ireland Asset Management (4.7 per cent), AIB Investment Managers (4.6 per cent), Fidelity (4 per cent), Scottish Provident (3.3 per cent) and Norwich Union (3.2 per cent).
