The death has taken place of John P Reihill (80) at his home “Deepwell”, Blackrock, Co Dublin, on Saturday, February 23rd.
Mr Reihill was the owner and chairman of fuel distribution and retail group Tedcastle Holdings after he bought the interests from his brother Frank and nephew Shane Reihill in 2001.
Tedcastle operates 30 company-owned fuel depots, 20 authorised distributors and more than 100 retail and unmanned fuel card/credit card sites under the Top Oil brand, as well as retail stores and property in the UK and North America. The group includes a branch in Northern Ireland, Kelly Fuels, and Tedcastles Aviation Fuels based in Shannon Airport.
Tedcastle Properties also owns a number of waterfront sites, including property in the Dublin Docklands, Cork Docklands, Fort George development in Derry, Howden’s Quay in Larne and New Rath near Waterford city.
The family has venture capital interests through the Reihill Venture Capital Group and his nephew Shane founded Trinity Venture Capital and Hibernia Capital Partners.
Mr Reihill’s funeral will take place on Saturday March 2nd.
