An announcement that a US health-care company will create more than 500 jobs in Clonmel, Co Tipperary is expected to be made next week by the Tanaiste, Ms Harney.
The jobs are part of the Government's efforts to find replacement industries for the town after the closure of the Seagate plant in December, when 1,400 people lost their jobs. It is also expected Ms Harney will announce up to 500 jobs for a town in Leinster next week.
Yesterday, she announced an investment of £19 million in two new projects involving the bathroom products manufacturer, Qualceram, which will lead to the creation of 280 jobs in Arklow, Co Wicklow. See page 2
