EBS has announced that it raised €525 million (£413 million) by way of securitisation, bringing the funding raised under its Emerald Mortgages programme to over €1 billion. Securitisation enables EBS to borrow long-term funds from European investors at competitive rates by issuing bonds under the name Emerald Mortgages.

This week's bond issue was oversubscribed. The €525 million transaction was increased from €500 million due to strong investor demand.
