DSS deal for Dublin group put at €1.9m

Dublin-based Decision Support Systems (DSS) said yesterday it had bought Info'Products Ireland

Dublin-based Decision Support Systems (DSS) said yesterday it had bought Info'Products Ireland. Sources valued the deal at around £1.5 million (€1.9 million). The acquisition will make DSS the largest Irish-owned reseller in the domestic market, and give its business a wider range of operations, the firm said.

DSS employs 60 people at its head office in Dublin, and a further 80 at its German, Spanish and Polish operations. Info'Products, up until now a subsidiary of Compel in Britain, is based in Ballymount, Dublin, and employs 12 people.

DSS provides computer applications for businesses such as budgeting, planning and data warehousing. Info'Products configures and resells PCs. Mr Tony Stafford, the owner and group managing director of DSS, said the deal meant the company acquired Info'Products' complete office and warehousing facilities, which DSS lacked at it Adelaide Road premises.

"This acquisition enables DSS to now offer our customers a complete portfolio of products and services," he added.
