Planning & DevelopmentCork County Council has granted planning permission for a €100 million business park development proposed for Little Island.

The Harbour Point Business Park will be built on a greenfield waterfront site with permission granted for 14 blocks offering 28,000sq m (300,000sq ft).

The overall site contains 17.4 hectares (43 acres) with the planning permission involving about 9.7 hectares (24 acres). It is located about 9kms east of Cork city and about 4kms from the Jack Lynch Tunnel, affording it very good road access.

Building sizes from 165sq m (1,776sq ft) to 4,355sq m (47,000sq ft) can be provided with a range of unit sizes between these two.

Agent Lisney is offering serviced development sites for sale with full planning permission. Alternatively, completed buildings can be provided to requirement for sale or for lease.

Quoted sales prices for sites are in the region of €1.25 million per acre.

The first phase of the park - comprising 24 small commercial units in three main blocks - is at an advanced stage of construction.

These units, ranging from 163sq m (1,750sq ft), were built under an earlier planning permission.

Lisney is offering the first block of eight units for sale at €390,000 plus Vat per unit.
