Early bird may catch top Galway retail premises: Flurry of interest in rental of A|wear space

Joint agents Jones Lang LaSalle and Douglas Newman Good say they have already had several inquiries about the A|wear store in Galway even before they launch a marketing campaign to find a replacement tenant.

The agents are inviting rental offers in excess of €240,000 for the store which has an overall floor area of 451sq m (4,854sq ft) over two levels at Edward Square in the city centre.

As one of the more successful stores operated by A|wear, the Galway premises was one of a small number of outlets retained by liquidators Kavanagh Fennell to help clear unsold stock.

With a limited supply of city centre stores with large floor plates in Galway city, the A|wear shop will be of interest to a range of Irish and overseas traders still unrepresented in the city.

Edward Square is acknowledged as one of the best trading positions in Galway, with other tenants including Top Shop, Next, Warehouse and Dunnes Stores.

Stephen Murray of Jones Lang LaSalle and Simon Plunkett of Douglas Newman Good are handling the letting for Signature Capital which bought Edward Square for €27 million over two years ago.
