Two senior appointments have been made at Invest Northern Ireland, the new economic development agency which will be formally established on April 1st.

Professor Terri Scott, currently director of development studies at the University of Ulster, will become managing director of Entrepreneurship and Enterprise at Invest Northern Ireland. Prof Scott is also a director of the Northern Ireland Centre of Entrepreneurship. Her previous posts have included those of dean of regional development and head of school (computing and mathematical sciences) at the university.

Ms Tracy Meharg will be appointed as the agency's managing director of innovation and capability development.

Ms Meharg is currently the executive director in the Industrial Development Board (IDB) with responsibility for the ICT sector.

She joined the IDB in 1988 and has worked in various roles prior to her appointment to executive director in January 1999.
