BOXING: As expected, Turkey's two-time World champion Gulsum Tatar has dropped down a weight and has moved into number-two spot behind Katie Taylor in the revised AIBA world lightweight rankings released for May.
Tatar, who has beaten Taylor twice in five fights in the past, claimed World light-welter (64kg) titles in 2008 and 2010.
However, she has now moved down to lightweight (60kg), which is one of the Olympic qualifying weight classes at the World Women’s Championships, which begin on Saturday in Qinhuangdao, China.
China’s Cheng Dong, who Taylor beat in the last two World lightweight finals in Barbados and China, has dropped one place to third in the rankings. American lightweight Queen Underwood, who Taylor has beaten three times, is ranked number seven, while India’s Laishram Devi Sarita is at nine.
