MIDFIELDER Trevor Giles kicked Meath into the semi final of the Leinster under 21 football championship with five delightful points from frees at Aughrim yesterday. Despite being without two suspended players, Meath led by 0-5 to 0-2 at the interval.

Stephen Byrne had a goal for Wicklow three minutes into the second half to bring the sides level at 1-2 to 0-5. But Wicklow could not gain the lead, and Raymond McGee had a crucial goal for Meath on 50 minutes. A minute later Wicklow were reduced to 14 men when full forward Stephen Byrne was sent off.
