* PGA GRAND SLAM: Rory McIlroy and Darren Clarke compete in Bermuda today and tomorrow to try to become the first European for 20 years to win the PGA Grand Slam of Golf (live on Sky Sports 3, 9pm).
The 36-hole event brings together the winners of the four majors, so the two Northern Irishmen will be up against South African Charl Schwartzel and American Keegan Bradley.
McIlroy’s first task, though, is to overcome jet lag. The US Open champion was in China last week for a seven-day, seven-city challenge against Lee Westwood, Ian Poulter and Liang Wen-chong.
After finishing a distant last with a six-over-par 79 – Westwood beat Liang in a play-off after both shot 71, with Poulter one behind – McIlroy tweeted: “My great Chinese adventure has ended. Now mentally preparing myself for 20 hours in the air from Hong Kong to Bermuda!”
* USPGA TOUR:World number one Luke Donald will need to finish first or second in this week's final USPGA Tour event to keep alive his dream of becoming the first player to top the money lists on both sides of the Atlantic in the same season.
Webb Simpson now leads the race in America by more than $363,000 after finishing runner-up at the McGladrey Classic in Georgia on Sunday night.
Yet it could have been worse for Donald. Simpson missed a putt of under four feet to lose to Ben Crane on the second play-off hole.
“Finishing second is going to make it a lot harder for Luke,” said the 26-year-old Simpson, who is in only his third full season as a professional. “But I’m sure he’s going to play well. He’s played well almost every week this year.”
