Kilanerin cruised to an impressive six-point victory over neighbours Castletown in yesterday's Wexford senior football championship final at Gorey.

Trailing 0-5 to 0-3 at the break, Kilanerin were dealt a severe blow within 30 seconds of the restart when Castletown corner forward Daragh Murphy found the net from close range to stretch his side's lead to five points.

However, Kilanerin signalled their intent with three points from corner forward Matty Forde, which left just two points separating the sides after 10 minutes. Two minutes later Forde netted for his side's only goal to give them a single point lead.

Although Castletown responded with an equalising point from substitute Colin Sunderland it was Kilanerin who went on to control the closing 12 minutes, kicking a total of seven points in the process.
