MUNSTER FOOTBALL Kerry 1-11 UCC 0-9:KERRY CAPTURED only their second McGrath Cup on Saturday when they beat a depleted UCC side in an entertaining final at Austin Stack Park, Tralee.

While Kerry’s squad was decimated by injuries and absent stars yet to return, UCC were unable to field their first 15 because of their premier competition, the Sigerson Cup, continues next Wednesday.

Nonetheless, Kerry got a useful work-out despite finishing with only 13 players having introduced all five subs. They lost star man James O’Donoghue, who scored 1-3, with a foot injury late on and then Aidan O’Mahony picked up a second yellow in the 58th minute. Kerry led 1-6 to 0-4 at the interval.
