Ballyboden St Enda’s and St Vincent’s confirmed semi-final berths in the Dublin Senior Football Championship following wins over St Brigid’s and St Sylvester’s respectively in Parnell Park on Saturday.
Ballyboden’s clash with the 2011 champions proved a tale of two halves with Shane Supple’s 28th minute penalty handing St Brigid’s a 1-6 to 0-7 interval lead.
St Enda’s Darren O’Reilly netted within a minute of the restart and they assumed complete control through points by the influential Conal Keaney and Kenny Naughton.
St Brigid’s fate was sealed as Ryan Basquel raced onto a pass from Michael Darragh Macauley before firing home to secure a 2-13 to 1-11 success.
St Vincent’s withstood a late St Sylvester’s rally to prevail by 0-14 to 2-7. Ciaran Dorney’s three points helped Vincent’s to a 0-9 to 0-4 interval lead while second-half goals from Mark Brennan and Eugene Keating almost saw Sylvester’s force extra-time.
On Friday seven points from Dean Rock helped holders Ballymun Kickhams progress to the semi-finals after a 0-15 to 0-7 victory over Raheny. Kevin McManamon’s superb 32nd minute goal proved pivotal as St Jude’s defeated Parnells 1-12 to 1-9.
