Laura Davies will be chasing a rare double when she starts out as strong favourite to win the inaugural WPGA Championship over the King's course at Gleneagles today.

Britain's world number one won the LPGA Championship in Delaware earlier this year one of three victories in America this season which has carried her to the top of the LPGA money list.

And she will need only a top 48 finish in Scotland to move to the top of the Order of Merit and strengthen her chance of emulating Annika Sorenstam, who became the first player to top the money lists on both sides of the Atlantic last year.

"It is a chance, but the money list in America is changing almost every week and there is a long way to go before the end of the season," said Davies.
