MUNSTER SCHOOLS' SENIOR CUP CBC Cork 13 Glenstal Abbey School 3:CHRISTIAN BROTHERS College Cork booked themselves a place in the last four of the Munster Schools' Senior cup yesterday with a hard-fought win over Glenstal Abbey at Temple Hill.

Scoreless after a half an hour, dynamic lock forward Kieran Frost scored the all-important try for the 2009 champions, charging his way over the line after a quick tap penalty five metres out. Darragh McNamara converted and Christians went in at the break with a seven-point lead which they never relinquished.

Brendan Monohan knocked over an opportunistic drop goal shortly after the restart and though Glenstal pushed hard for a try they were unable to penetrate the resilient home defence. The best they could manage was a penalty from Conor Kearns after CBC had been reduced to 14 men following the sin binning of Dean Nolan. McNamara converted another penalty and Christians saw out the remainder of the game comfortably to set up a semi-final clash against Rockwell.
