The 53-year-old, sidelined since a fall nine days ago, will again be on the sidelines to)day. "I don't know yet when I'll be back," the Scot said. "There is not much on this week and I am in no hurry.

"I hope to be back by the weekend."

Carson has been out of action since a tumble from the fatally-injured Mubhij at Newmarket.

His hopes of a quick return at Goodwood last week were scuppered by a soft-tissue injury suffered when he rushed to answer the phone.

"I am still in a bit of pain but I am OK and struggling along," he said.

Carson's absence has cost him several winners, notably Bahhare, who earned a 12 to 1 quote for next year's 2000 Guineas from Coral after victory in the Hero Conditions Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday.
