WOMEN'S HOCKEY: Ulster won the girls Under-18 interprovincial title for the fourth year in a row at Mervue, Galway, on Saturday. They achieved a grand slam by beating Leinster 3-0 to finish the tournament with 19 goals for and none conceded.

In senior circles, UCD completed their halfway programme in the Leinster League with a 6-0 defeat of Trinity at Santry. It remains to be seen if Hermes, the only unbeaten side, can share top place with Loreto, whose 2-0 win over UCD on Thursday leaves them in pole position.

Following negotiations by team manger Steven Hiles, Ireland have accepted an invitation to play in a four-nation tournament involving Austria, Switzerland and Russia in Vienna in June.
