FC Basel - 2 Spartak Moscow - 0 Swiss double winners FC Basel claimed their maiden Champions League victory with a comfortable 2-0 win over Spartak Moscow at St Jakob Park last night.
Second-half goals from strikers Hakan Yakin and Julio Rossi earned Christian Gross's side their first
victory in Europe's premier club competition.
Yakin netted the opener after 50 minutes when he slotted home following impressive play by Argentine front man Christian Gimenez.

Rossi doubled the advantage five minutes later, breaking Spartak's off-side trap before coolly finishing past goalkeeper Stanislav Cherchesov.
