Premium Irish whiskey, Roe & Co is celebrating its one-year anniversary ahead of the launch of its vibrant new distillery, which is due to open in the former Guinness Power Station on Thomas Street next Spring.
Bringing people together for an afternoon of creativity, craftmanship and to learn new skills; The Roe & Collective aims to inspire, educate and engage guests in the true spirit of collaboration, whilst enjoying some world class Roe & Co cocktails. Guests will gain an insight into different forms of craft and play around with new art materials in a fun and supportive environment, led by local creators and artists.
Terrarium Building with Wild Bird Studios
Whether you have always wanted to understand how terrariums work or already have your own self-contained ecosystem underway, this introductory workshop with professional urban gardener and stain glass artist Alison Byrne will set you on the right path.
Using upcycled Roe & Co whiskey bottles, a variety of plants, including succulents and cacti, as well as an arrangement of sands and pebbles; Alison will kick off the workshop, explaining the history and science that goes into building a terrarium. She will guide you on different types of plants and the best type of soil to work with; providing you with the insight to create your own urban green space, before you begin building your own.
By the end of the session you will have your very own miniature garden to take home to watch develop and grow over the next few months.
Silkscreen Printing with Damn Fine Print
Championing the art of print, Damn Fine Print is paving the way when it comes to screen printing in Ireland. Specialising in silkscreen and risograph printing, this workshop will teach you how to print one-off pieces under the guidance of their knowledgeable staff. You can learn the skills to start screen printing independently, understanding step-by-step how to use layering and overprinting techniques with a selection of colours, so you can put your own individual stamp on a custom-made tote bag, tea towel or badge. You don’t need to be able to draw to a high standard, allowing you to experiment in a relaxed and fun way.
Roe & Co Cocktail Masterclass
Unlike any other whiskey, Roe & Co was made in collaboration with a hand-picked group of Ireland’s top bartenders who, together with Roe & Co Master Blender Caroline Martin, created a unique blended whiskey that is perfect for cocktails.
Roe & Co is made from the finest hand-selected stocks of Irish malt and grain whiskies and aged in bourbon casks. It has the signature smoothness of Irish Whiskey with remarkable depth of flavour - a luxuriously smooth blend, with a perfect harmony between the intense fruitiness of the malt and the mellow creaminess of the grain whiskies.
The workshop, a cocktail masterclass, will be a celebration of the art of cocktail making, hosted by Roe & Co Brand Ambassador Peter O’Connor; teaching you how to create world class Roe & Co cocktails at home. You will also learn about the history of Roe & Co, why it is so synonymous with The Liberties and the golden era of Irish whiskey.
