Madam, - I agree with Pádraig Ó Maoláin's complaint (August 1st) about junk mail and advertising being posted into his house.
In Belgium there is an extremely simple solution to this problem. You go to the post office or local shop and get stickers which say "No free papers" or "No advertising". You stick these on your letterbox and voilà - no more rubbish.
Perhaps this could be tried in Ireland. - Yours, etc,
