Sir, – After several delays to the dates at which all newly qualified doctors would be told which city, hospital and department they are starting to work at on July 2nd, the HSE National Recruitment Service has issued correspondence informing new doctors that there has been “incorrect post allocation”, with the correct offers being anticipated for next week.

Pre-employment health screens and contract signing have been delayed.

In addition to the anxiety of having offers of employment withdrawn, some doctors, instead of having the expected five weeks, may be left with an already very busy and cramped 10 days to find and move to new accommodation. I have better things to be worrying about. – Is mise,
