If I want An Nuacht I know where to find it

Sir, – We spend a very significant sum supporting the Irish language through TG4 and RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta.

If I wish, I can hear or see an Nuacht on these services. If I choose not to, I don’t expect it to be duplicated on RTÉ One or Two radio and television at a significant cost to the tax payer. RTÉ has just announced a loss of €2.7 million.

I wonder how much is attributable to this unnecessary duplication. – Yours, etc,
