Madam, - I have been trying to work out how to comply with the advice you give to your readers in your Editorial of July 8th, "Facing up to a downturn." If I lie on my back I can keep my face up, but I am not turned down. If I lie on my tummy I will be turned down, but it would be impossible to take your advice and turn my face up.
Are you suggesting that I should be hung, upside down, by the heels, with my eyes fixed on the ceiling? Apart from the discomfort involved in the position you seem to recommend, have you considered the dangers involved? - Yours, etc.,
DERMOT MacCARTHY, Fortfield Road, Dublin 6w.
