Madam, - Your edition of August 2nd reported that AIB has achieved record profits in excess of €1.2 billion for the first six months of the year. It was also reported that out of this enormous profit, €453 million was generated in Ireland.
It is hugely comforting to know that this eminent corporation ("AIB, Bringing the Ryder Cup to Ireland"), holds its domestic customers in such high esteem that it is inviting them to enter a competition whereby they may win practice day tickets (an undisclosed number) to the Ryder Cup, which is due to be held in the K Club in September.
I wonder what level of profit needed to be achieved before customers become eligible for actual competition day tickets. - Yours, etc,
