Two youths from Atht, Co Kildare, appeared before a special sitting of Drogheda District Court yesterday charged in relation to a robbery at a shop in Hackballscross, Dundalk, on Monday morning.

Paul Doyle and Michael Keating, both aged 17, with addresses in Clonmullion, Athy, were charged with robbery at Barronstown, Hackballscross, on March 18th. Evidence of arrest, charge and caution was given by Garda Neil McGowan of Hackballscross, who arrested the defendants just before noon on Monday. They are charged with stealing cigarettes and cash.

Judge Flann Brennan remanded them in custody with consent to bail on their own bond of £500 and independent surety of £1,000 to this morning's sitting of Dundalk District Court.

Two juveniles who were also charged in connection with the incident appeared before a special sitting of Drogheda Juvenile Court and were also remanded in custody to this morning's court in Dundalk.
