At midday tomorrow in the RDS Library, shy members of the public will wait their turn before approaching the celebrities. They will go, book in hand, and ask for a signature - or two. The Whoseday Book is a special diary yearbook for 2000, the millennium year, in which 366 Irish writers, artists and celebrities have each contributed a page.

So, tomorrow, over 200 of the celebs will be there at our biggest ever book-signing event, among them Gabriel Byrne, Brian Keenan, Gerry Adams, Patricia Scanlon, Brenda Fricker, John Rocha, Ruairi

Quinn and Pauline Bewick. It runs from midday to 6 p.m. All money raised from sales of the book will go directly to the Irish Hospice Foundation.
