Waterford's Granary Museum has won the 1999 Museum of the Year award for its exhibition on the city's history and architecture.
Other winners under the scheme, sponsored by the Heritage Council and the Gulbenkian Foundation in London, were the Ulster Museum in Belfast; Fethard Park and Folk Museum, Co Tipperary; the Sheelin Antique Lace Museum, Co Fermanagh; and the County Museum in Dalkey, Co Dublin.
