US tourist among those killed in Tipperary crash

A young American tourist was among three people who were killed in a two-car crash in South Tipperary yesterday afternoon.

Ms Katie Rossiter (20) from Illinois was travelling in one of the cars which crashed on the Waterford to Limerick road at around 2.45 p.m.

The two other people who died were named as Mr Donal O’Dowda (45) and Ms Breda Neill (50) both of Woodlands Avenue, Faithlegg, Co Waterford, who were travelling in the second car.

The Garda in Cahir have appealed for witnesses and anyone with information is asked to contact them at 052-45630.

In Co Down a man was killed and another man was seriously injured in a crash on the Dublin road near Newry last night.

The dead man has been named as Mr Kevin McCrossan of Patrick Street in Newry.
