The World Court has called on the United States to review the cases of more than 50 Mexicans on death row for failing to inform them of their right to talk to consular officials shortly after their arrests.

The Mexicans had the right to have their convictions and sentences reviewed because the US had breached a convention on consular relations, the U.N's top court said, ruling in favour of Mexico in a case against its neighbour.
