A two-year-old Leitrim child has died in a farmyard accident when a gate fell on him.
Fionn McGovern, who has three older brothers, was playing in the yard at his home when the gate fell on to him.
He was the son of Pat and Myra McGovern of Keshcarrigan.
In Co Kerry, an elderly woman has died in a house fire at her home. She has been named locally as Nellie Reidy (90), Knockrour, Scartaglin, and the fire is believed to have occurred accidentally.
