Two men charged with having a gun and ammunition in Dundalk have been remanded until December by the Special Criminal Court.

Thomas Kelly (26) Killinarden Estate, Tallaght, Dublin 24 and Eugene Kelly (42) Ashling Park, Cox's Demesne, Dundalk, Co Louth are each charged with possession of a 9mm Glock semi-automatic pistol and fifty rounds of ammunition at Castletown Road, Dundalk, Co Louth on July 19th.

Eugene Kelly is also charged with membership of an illegal organisation styling itself the Irish National Liberation Army, otherwise the INLA on the same date.

Mr Justice Paul Butler, presiding at the three-judge court, remanded Thomas Kelly on continuing bail and Eugene Kelly in custody until December when a book of evidence is expected to be served.
