Two people died in a collision in Co Cavan last night.
The crash between a truck and a four-wheel-drive vehicle happened at around 7.30 p.m. at Bunn on the N3 near Belturbet.
The 33-year-old woman driver of the four-wheel-drive vehicle and a 60-year-old male passenger were killed in the crash. A female occupant was seriously injured and taken to Cavan General hospital.
The driver of the truck was taken to hospital but was not seriously injured.
The names of the dead were have not yet been released.
Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to contact them on 049 9525580.
The deaths brought to 320 the number of people killed on the Republic's roads so far in 2004 - about 29 more than the similar period last year, according to provisional figures compiled by the Garda Síochána.
