Two held in Antrim over counterfeit money find

A man and a women are being held in Co Antrim in connection with the seizure of over €400,000 of counterfeit banknotes.

A man and a women are being held in Co Antrim in connection with the seizure of over €400,000 of counterfeit banknotes.

Both were arrested last night after police uncovered what they described as a "major counterfeit currency operation" in Newtownabbey.

The currencies included Euro, Bank of England notes and local bank notes.

Detectives said it was a "major counterfeiting operation using sophisticated technology".
