Two held after Belfast alert

Two men have been arrested by the PSNI following a security alert in central Belfast this morning.

Two men have been arrested by the PSNI following a security alert in central Belfast this morning.

Police say the two were arrested after a car was stopped and searched at Carlisle Circus.

A number of items were seized and are currently undergoing forensic examination.

The area, at the junction of the Antrim and Crumlin Roads was closed to the public for a period but has since reopened.
