Two men appeared in court yesterday on charges of murdering an elderly farmer at his home in Co Louth five months ago.

Two men appeared in court yesterday on charges of murdering an elderly farmer at his home in Co Louth five months ago.

Martin Myles (32), of Ferdia Park, Ardee, and Kevin Reilly (18), of Hurlestown, were charged at Carrickmacross District Court with the murder of Patrick Clinton at Ballybailie, Ardee, on December 19th last.

The court heard that books of evidence were being prepared. The men were remanded in custody to Ardee District Court tomorrow.
