Two arrested over fatal Meath shooting

Two people have been arrested tonight in connection with the fatal shooting of a man (17) in Dunboyne, Co Meath this morning.

Two people have been arrested tonight in connection with the fatal shooting of a man (17) in Dunboyne, Co Meath this morning.

The two were arrested this evening and are being held under section 30 of the offences against the State Act.

The victim, from Nigeria, died shortly after being shot at the Court Apartments complex at 1.30am this morning. His attackers fired a shot through the door of one of the apartments.

He was taken to James Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown where he later died.

The teenager, who had been renting an apartment with another person, is understood to have lived in the area around two months.

Superintendent Charles Devine, of Ashbourne Garda Station, appealed for anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area to come forward.
