Two men appeared at Cookstown Magistrates' Court yesterday in connection with a disturbance in Pomeroy, when nationalist residents blocked the main street of the Co Tyrone village to prevent an Orange Order church parade.

Mr Martin Hugh Bowman (27), of Gortnagola Road, Dungannon, and Mr Kieran Joseph O'Neill (25), of Main Street, Cappagh, face charges of riotous behaviour, unlawful assembly and obstructing the parade on Sunday, July 6th. Mr Bowman is also charged with assaulting a police officer. Both men were remanded on bail.
