The Air Corps has carried out two air ambulance missions over the Christmas period.

At 7.30am this morning a patient was transported from Casement Aerodrome in Baldonnel to Heathrow airport in London before being transferred to hospital by ambulance.

Meanwhile on Saturday night an Air Corps AW139 helicopter transported another patient between Dublin and Cork.

To date this year the Air Corps have completed 70 air ambulance missions.
