WORK on the £67 million Lee tunnel project in Cork was halted yesterday following a dispute about overtime pay.

The contractor, Tarmac Walls, has accused SIPTU, which represents the majority of the 200 workers involved in the dispute, of asking for payments that would cost up to £5 million over the two year construction period.

The dispute has lasted two months. The Labour Court is due to report on February 29th.
