Exploration company Tullow Oil said today it failed to find oil or gas in its first well in the CB-ON-1 Block in the Cambay Rift Basin in India.

The well reached the depth of 1,916 meters (5,700 feet) on July 19th, the London-based company said today in a statement.

"This is the first well in a campaign which will comprise at least four wells, targeting multiple play types within the block," the company said.
