UK oil and gas explorer Tullow Oil today reported a second successful flow test on the Mahogany-2 appraisal well at the Jubilee field offshore Ghana.
The test was conducted over a 23-metre (75-foot) perforated interval and recorded a flow rate of 4,448 barrels of oil a day and about 5.1 million standard cubic feet of associated natural gas a day, the company said today in a statement.
Tullow said that in both tests, flows were restricted by equipment and facilities, adding that the Jubilee production wells should be capable of rates in excess of 20,000 barrels of oil a day when completed.
