Three injured as Cork taxi mounts footpath

Three people have been brought to hospital after the taxi in which they were travelling mounted a footpath in Cork city centre early today.

The taxi driver suffered serious leg injuries in the incident. He is being treated at Cork University Hospital. Two of the taxi's passengers are not thought to be seriously injured.

The taxi was travelling down Patrick Street shortly before 1.30 a.m., when the collision occurred.
