Two men and a woman were arrested in Cork early this morning after two other men were injured in an unprovoked attack the city.

The two, in their twenties, were taken to Cork University Hospital. One is not believed to be in a serious condition, while the other is described as stable.

Three people were arrested minutes after the incident on Barrack Street and Fort Street at 3.15 a.m. They are being questioned in the Bridewell Garda Station.

"Initial investigations indicate this to be an unprovoked attack," a Garda spokeswoman said.
