Two men and a woman have been arrested in connection with the holding up of a security van in the car park of a Dublin shopping centre today.
The three suspects, who are all in their late 30's to early 40's, were arrested in the Ballyfermot area this afternoon and are being held at Terenure and Rathmines Garda stations under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act.
The incident began when a man who appeared to be holding a firearm approached a member of staff operating a security van in the Rathfarnham Shopping Centre car park on Butterfield Avenue at around 12.45pm.
The man escaped with a cash box containing an undisclosed sum of money in a red Skoda Octavia van, which was found burnt out on Springfield avenue in Templeogue a short time later.
No shots were fired during the raid, and no one was injured.
Gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the incident.
