The Irish at Paris fashion week: Carmel Walsh

An up and coming freelance stylist, Carmel Walsh comes to Paris four times a year for research from Florence where she is closely associated with luxury retailer Luisa Via Roma.

Recent assignments include working with Hollywood stylist B Akerlund on Madonna’s latest video in the Tuscan countryside and styling nine Italian children from six months to 12 years for prominent Italian fashion brands.

From Riverstick, near Kinsale, and a sister of the celebrated furniture designer Joseph Walsh (who will be exhibiting in the Venice Biennale in June), she spent three years with Saskia Wittner in her Florence atelier showroom. Walsh is now setting her sights on the music video industry.
