A “talking” dog has topped a list of the most-watched videos on YouTube in Ireland this year.

The animal is shown being teased by its owner about food and appears to speak English, saying “You’re kidding me!” as he is told that delicacies have gone elsewhere.

“Ultimate Dog Tease” was the most-watched YouTube community video in the Ireland in 2011 and has been viewed over 74 million times.

Second most popular video among Irish viewers was Damo and Ivor's Hangover sketch from RTE's Republic of Telly, followed by the video for I wanna fight your father by Limerick rappers The Rubberbandits.

In addition to chatty canines, talking babies also tickled Irish people’s fancy, with part two of Talking Twin babies coming in fourth spot.

In fifth place was Rugby by Dead Cat Bounce, which was also first broadcast on Republic of Telly.

The most-viewed music video of the year among Irish users was LMFAO's Party Rock Anthem, ahead of Jennifer Lopez's On The Floor, Super Bass by Nicki Minaj,

The most-watched video globally this year was Rebecca Black's Friday.

The list of most-watched videos was released by YouTube’s owner, Google.

YouTube trends manager Kevin Allocca said: “The 10 most-watched YouTube videos of 2011 show that around the world, whatever language we speak, there are certain things that bring us all together around a computer screen or mobile phone - adorable babies, talented performers, and clever advertising.”
